I've said it once, I'll say it again. The best food is always found at the mom and pop hole in the wall eateries. This place is a must do over and over till you've had everything on the menu.

A real friendly place to have great food. I had the shrimp cocktail and was very pleased. The place is small and in the back of a grocery store but worth the visit. Also got some dried chorizo to cook later. Great prices and very friendly staff. Also can park semi across the street at Richards Diesel while you eat.

January 2015. Got chicken tacos. They are tiny. Spicy shredded chicken with thin corn tacos. No onions or cilantro accompanying. $1.75 each. Hygiene especially in the bathroom is on the questionable side.Few staff speak English.

Love this place! Real Mexican food in Idaho Foods - not the cheesy, bland, gringo stuff most seem to like around here. The spicy pork is amazing! Everything is tasty.

Chicken burrito, chicken taco, shrimp taco, Garcia fries are all great. Don't let the initial impression frighten you - it's good, hidden, and delicious

Want to feel like you've traveled to the heart of Mexico and found some of the most traditional foods from south of the border? This is the place. Tacos for the gringos, seafood cocktails for the seafood lover, menudo and pozole for those who know how good those traditional soups are. I love the coctel campechana. Great service and unlimited refills on aguas frescas. Good stuff here!

Everyone was really happy at our pit stop on the road. This is a totally traditional taqueria. If you want table service or chips and salsa at the table, go elsewhere. But if you want authentic food, GO! The kids had one carnitas taco and one asada taco each. They loved the pork. The mister had a torta. He raved about the asada. I had one shrimp and one fish taco. The shrimp was highly recommended by the cashier. It was very tasty, but be prepared for greasy goodness with that one. The shell is freshly fried, so it oozes a bit when you grab it. This is the best recommendation I've taken from Yelp. If you are tempted, take the leap and go.

Oh my goodness this is the BEST Mexican food ever! I'm from California where there are a ton of Mexican restaurants by far this is the best food I've ever had! The food is so fresh tasting here! I got a torta and I instantly fell in love!!

Fantastic food. The tacos are the best I've had in Idaho Falls. I especially recommend the carne asada or the chorizo. Their horchata is out of a box but suprisingly delicious. I would give this place a 5 star if it wasn't for the owner. He is an absolute jerk and acts as if you are inconveniencing him by eating at his restaurant. Also, avoid Saturday afternoons unless you want to endure horrible karaoke by the owner himself.

Don't let the name or the appearance of the building fool you. This is one of the best little secrets in Idaho Falls. Located in the old Jewel Electric building, the restaurant is in the back of a Mexican store and meat market. However, therein lies their secret. They use the freshest of meats in all their dishes--and you can really taste the difference. The menu is big, but not as big as the flavors. They have all the traditional entrees, with a selection of 7 or 8 meats. Everything is very reasonably priced. I tried a bunch of different things, but the standouts were the spicy pork and chorizo tacos. Their chorizo was sooo good, as was the pork--perhaps the best I've ever tasted. The robust flavors are the direct result of having a butcher shop on site. It would be easy to overlook this place . . . but don't. This is some of the best, freshest Mexican food in the Upper Valley.

I had chicken enchiladas, tongue tacos, and el pastor tacos. The tacos were four star, the enchiladas two star. I waited quite a while--maybe fifteen minutes--for my order, which seems long for tacos and enchiladas. Also, there was an old guy singing along to recorded music. If he hadn't been amplified way above the needs of the room it might've been cute, but I had to really exercise my ignoring gland. I averaged them to three stars because I don't imagine there's much Mexican food here. Back home in Minnesota they'd have gotten two.

Like it; like it a lot. Hungry G. hit this nail on the head. Anybody (most anybody) can sell Mexican food; most people can MAKE Mexican food, but few actually produce the cuts, meats and spices. Good for Garcia's! Go and try THEIR meats in a Mulita or burrito; I recommend the Chorizo or Cabeza. Talk to the butcher before ordering (seriously!); he has the best grasp of English......

We were fresh off of a trip to Mexico and dying to find a good sope here in town. Mission accomplished. I wish I could remember all the delicious dishes we had, but it's hard to think you could order anything bad from here. If you want the best Mexican food in Idaho Falls, you've got to head here.

Seven, count them, SEVEN different types of hot-sauces! The fish in the fish tacos is nice and crispy, the service was great, and it was SUPER cheap!

The best in Idaho Falls! Mulitas, tacos, cheese fries, shrimp and fish tacos are all favorites and ask for the secret enchilada. Nice, new clean facility too.

I would call this a no frills restaurant, bit it's one full of great taste and flavor. If I hadn't Done a search of Yelp, I never would have eaten here nor knew one could do so. Street taco's are awesome and I definitely would recommend the Mulitas!! I'm a creature of habit, so the tacos and Mulitas are all that I have tried, but others there were loving some of the other choices.

This place is awesome! I'm a world traveller and I've been going through some serious ethnic food withdrawal. Thanks to yelp I got pointed to this hidden gem. Like those before me I recommend the burritos, steak, spicy pork, you name it, it is good. To top it off the prices are good too. English is not a first language for many of the staff, but the food more than makes up for any ordering difficulties.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
